Sinfest spirituality
It seems that in the desire for sexual engagements there is an urge to connect deeply, to go to the bottom of everything, below the levels of words and social veneer, to the realm of smell, taste, touch, animal sensation. And beyond that, to enter into a kind of meditative process - an uncovering - that can only occur in the mirror of a relationship. It seems that a truly intimate relationship entails going through feelings of hatred, hopelessness, and otherness again and again, going through them and learning that they can pass.

Hi all, I'm a graduate student in the School of Criminology at S.F.U. and am looking for people who want to take part in an upcoming study. Here are the details, feel free to pass the info on to anyone you think would be interested!

Are you….
· a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, two-spirited or queer (GLBTTQ) individual who feels that you were bullied in high school because of your sexual orientation or gender identity?

· 19 years of age or older?

· someone who graduated from or left a high school in the Lower Mainland in the year 2002 or later?

· interested in discussing your experiences (both positive and negative) with other GLBTTQ people who have also experienced bullying?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, you’re invited to participate in a group discussion exploring experiences with homophobic or transphobic bullying in high school. The purpose of this confidential research is to gain a deeper understanding about these forms of harassment to promote a safe learning environment for high school students in B.C.

For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Rebecca at bullystudy@hotmail.com.

I can't brain today... I have the dumb.
Hey guys,
Sorry there hasn't been much posted here. I've got some news articles and other things I'd like to post, but I've been really busy with classes - still an undergrad and taking 22 credits >.< How about this question for starters: Do you go / have you gone to a college or university? If so, does your school have any sort of program in sexuality studies? What sorts of classes are offered that relate to sexuality studies?

Hey there. Considering the interdisciplinary nature of sexuality studies, I would like this community to be a place where we can post (and discuss) all sorts of things. I'm not sure how many members we can get, but I hope that we can have a fairly active community. News articles, questions about the field, relevant social issues... if you feel it's related to sexuality studies in any way, let's talk about it!
